What makes Kristen Miller and Ali Sutton of Boho Studios Med Spa good neighbors?

In the heart of downtown Fort Collins, a unique med spa is redefining aesthetic medicine by focusing on natural results and whole-person wellness. Boho Studios Med Spa, founded by Kristen Miller seven years ago, has grown from a single-room operation to a thriving practice that combines cutting-edge technology with a holistic approach to beauty and self-care. As we discovered in our recent podcast interview, what sets this med spa apart isn't just their services—it's their philosophy.

The founders of Boho Studios bring impressive medical credentials to aesthetic medicine. Both Kristen Miller and Ali Sutton have backgrounds as critical care nurses, experience that they credit for their ability to think critically about each client's unique needs. "Being able to critically think through people's options and deciding an appropriate treatment plan for them so they look like themselves, with the best version of themselves, I think the background in medical care does help with that," explains Kristen. This expertise allows them to navigate the complex world of aesthetic treatments with both scientific precision and an artist's eye.

Perhaps the most refreshing aspect of Boho Studios' approach is their commitment to natural-looking results. In an industry often criticized for creating uniform, overdone appearances, Kristen is passionate about helping clients look refreshed without looking "done." "Most people that walk through my door absolutely say, okay, I want to keep it natural, I don't want to look overfilled, I don't want to look like everybody else," she explains. Rather than focusing on selling more product, she emphasizes "re-volumizing areas that are really important versus augment," a distinction that results in subtle enhancement rather than dramatic change. This philosophy extends to their use of PDO lifting threads, which gently lift tissue for a natural effect.

Beyond facial treatments, Boho Studios offers services that address functional concerns often overlooked in discussions about aesthetic medicine. Ali, who specializes in Morpheus 8 (radio frequency microneedling) and vaginal rejuvenation treatments, works to overcome misconceptions about these services. "I think a lot of women may roll their eyes like 'well, what's wrong with it? Why do you need to rejuvenate it?' But really it's much more of a functional medicine treatment to help with things that women have to deal with after having babies or as we age," she explains. This focus on improving quality of life rather than simply appearance is central to their practice.

The spa's client base defies stereotypes about who seeks aesthetic treatments. From 20-year-olds with genetic under-eye hollows to 75-year-olds addressing age-related volume loss, Boho Studios welcomes everyone. Men make up an increasing portion of their clientele, reflecting changing attitudes about self-care. What unites their diverse clients is the desire to address specific concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. As Kristen notes, "If you can fix something that they look in the mirror and are very upset about on a daily basis and soften that a little bit, boy, does it do a lot for their heart and soul."

What truly distinguishes Boho Studios is the atmosphere they've created. Clients frequently comment on the welcoming energy and the strong bonds between team members. "I can't tell you how many times I hear regularly our clients say 'do you guys need help around here? I'll sweep the floors, I'll mop the floors, I'll do anything. I just want to hang out here,'" shares Ali, who was herself a client before joining the team. This sense of community, combined with the founders' personal experiences as single mothers building businesses, infuses the practice with authenticity and compassion.
